The Royal Malaysia Police has completed its investigation on Wednesday (24 January) regarding the anomalous land ownership transfer involving the Federal Land Development Authority (FELDA).
Previously, it said the investigation would be concluded last week and the report would be immediately submitted to the Attorney General’s Chambers (AGC).
“I apologise as I said last week that we will be submitting the papers, but due to technical reasons, investigations only finished today,” said Police Inspector-General Tan Sri Mohamad Fuzi Harun.
“I was informed by the investigating team that their probe was only completed today, and the papers will be submitted by today. I was briefed there were a few other things that needed to be addressed in the investigations before we could submit it,” he noted.
Last month, it was reported that FELDA was at risk of losing millions, as the ownership of 16 land parcels in Jalan Semarak collectively valued at about RM270 million had been transferred to Synergy Promenade Sdn Bhd (SPSB). The dubious transaction was said to have occurred in 2014 or 2015 due to a power of attorney granted to the developer undertaking a project for the government agency.
Police officials even interviewed former FELDA chairman Tan Sri Mohd Isa Samad as the suspicious land transfer happened during his tenure.
Nevertheless, SPSB signed a memorandum of understanding to return all 16 land parcels to FELDA for free on 15 January. Despite the recovery of the land, police officials said back then that their investigation will still continue, while the third-party forensic audit is expected to be completed in February.
The 16 land parcels are intended for the Kuala Lumpur Vertical City (KLVC) project, which will consist of seven blocks. These include FELDA’s 59-storey KLVC Tower1A, which comes with a two-level office podium, a rooftop garden and a helipad, which are being built by SPSB.
