Boustead Petroleum Marketing Sdn Bhd (‘BHPetrol’) is collaborating with master planner and developer, Medini Iskandar Malaysia Sdn Bhd (‘MIM’) to build the first BHPetrol station situated in Medini City, the Central Business District of Iskandar Puteri.
BHPetrol and MIM recently signed a sub-lease agreement in relation to the setting up of a petrol station that will be built near a cluster of rapidly growing commercial office plots. The petrol station, measuring about 44,000 sq ft will be the 380th BHPetrol station in the country, when completed.
With its ground breaking targeted to take place within the fourth quarter of this year, the petrol station, subject to the approval of the relevant authorities, will take about eight months to complete. The petrol station will be built complete with BHPetrol’s quality offers and a convenience store.
To commemorate this milestone, a document exchange ceremony was held at the Sime Darby Convention Centre, Kuala Lumpur earlier today. Guests at the event witnessed the document exchange between Dr James Tee, Managing Director / Chief Executive Officer of MIM and Mr Tan Kim Thiam, Managing Director of BHPetrol.
Dr James Tee, Managing Director / Chief Executive Officer of MIM said, “BHPetrol is an innovative brand as it is the first to introduce the Euro 5 diesel into Malaysia. We are very excited to collaborate with BHPetrol to open the first BHPetrol station in Medini City!
The commercial areas within Medini City are growing rapidly as we are seeing more local and international companies operating here. Our landmark office building, the 21-storey Medini 9, will open very soon, and is another significant milestone for Medini City.
The increasing number of job and business opportunities create an influx of people into this new Central Business District. As the population grows, providing an established eco-system and complementary amenities will be our priority. The presence of BHPetrol in Medini City will also benefit residents and workers in Iskandar Puteri.”
Mr Tan Kim Thiam, Managing Director of BHPetrol added, “We hope our presence will contribute to the development and needs for Medini City. Through our quality offerings in petroleum products and convenience retailing, this will enable us to reach out and capture more new customers to grow our brand steadily.”
