Owning a home is more than just a roof over your head. For many of us, finding that place to call home is a key part of our life journey. A place where memories are created and where families are built.
This aspiration is the very foundation of PropertyGuru’s existence. And as part of its commitment to help people own a home, PropertyGuru recently launched its ‘Home Giveaway initiative’. The campaign aims to help one deserving Malaysian to own a free home worth over RM600,000 at Tropicana Metropark by telling their story.
With over 160,000 votes and over 4.5 million video views, Malaysians, in spirit of #KitaJagaKita, gathered together and voted for the most deserving home seeker. PropertyGuru thanks each and everyone of you for helping a fellow Malaysian, win a free home.
During the nomination period, over 1,000 honest and stirring stories were received, detailing inspiring stories and homeownership aspirations from all walks of life. Eventually, a young breadwinner, a single mother of three kids, a cancer survivor, a gambling-addict-turned-pastor, and a paralyzed scholar were selected as the Top 5 finalists to be in the running to become a first-time homeowner through PropertyGuru’s Home Giveaway initiative.

PropertyGuru Home Giveaway Initiative aimed to raise awareness about the real challenges people have been facing in their home ownership journey, while helping one deserving Malaysian own a free home. This is also in response to the recent Consumer Sentiment Study findings that 1 in 3 Malaysians are still intent on seeking ownership to have a roof over their heads, despite the pandemic that has made it more challenging to afford the down payment and getting a home loan.
PropertyGuru is delighted to receive the warm support from Malaysians across the country who rallied together to help turn one deserving home seeker into a first-time homeowner.
