Avaland Successfully Completes Health Screenings Across The Klang Valley

5 Dec 2024

Subang Jaya – Avaland has successfully completed its health-screening programme, fulfilling its pledge to support community well-being across the Klang Valley. In partnership with the National Kidney Foundation of Malaysia (NKF), the initiative to conduct over 2,000 screenings, as well as a pledge of 10 advanced vital signs monitoring devices to NKF’s dialysis centres throughout Klang Valley, reinforces Avaland’s commitment to community health.

Launched earlier this year, Avaland’s health-screening programme aimed to raise awareness of NonCommunicable Diseases (NCDs) like diabetes, hypertension, and kidney disease. The donated devices, featuring ECG and Oxygen Saturation (SPO2) monitoring, play a key role complementing the dialysis sessions of patients in the Klang Valley, as it will allow healthcare professionals to identify and address adverse reactions or complications that may arise during the dialysis sessions of patients. In addition to public screenings, Avaland engaged employees in the programme, fostering a culture of volunteering and pride amongst staff.

Mr. Apollo Bello Tanco (Pol), CEO of Avaland, expressed gratitude in the programme’s success, “We are both happy and humbled to play a role in enriching lives and fostering healthier communities across the Klang Valley this year. In light of the growing prevalence of non-communicable diseases (NCDs), we recognize the critical importance of health screenings and timely intervention, particularly during dialysis sessions.”

“With this in mind, we are excited to announce plans for a significant expansion of our health-screening programme in 2025. Our goal is to double this year’s screening numbers, enabling us to reach even more individuals and communities, not only within the Klang Valley, but nationwide. We are committed to making a lasting impact on the health and well-being of people across the country, while also nurturing the spirit of volunteerism among our employees. “ Pol said.

The first health-screening event was held at Avaland’s Sales Gallery at Anja Bangi, followed by Avaland Show Village at Cybersouth and Lakefront Cyberjaya. The final health-screening event of the year was held over the weekend at the Avenue25 Sales Gallery, marking a successful conclusion to the programme. This event rounded off Avaland’s year-long commitment to promoting community health across the Klang Valley, offering free screenings and raising awareness about Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) and kidney health.
