Not only does Bruce Wayne lead an extravagant lifestyle of riding luxurious cars, throwing lavish parties and, of course, practising masked vigilantism equipped with gadgets that flaunt technological sophistication, the alter ego of Batman is also the owner of a mansion worth US$32.1 million (RM102.16 million).
Although a fictional structure, the exorbitant price of Wayne Manor was based on its proximity to Gotham City, which is greatly likened to Chicago, Illinois.
Movoto Real Estate, the agency that did the appraisal on Wayne Manor, wrote on its website: “Gotham City is a massive, nasty city with daunting and powerful architecture.
“It’s a massively corrupt city with back alleys. Chicago gives us this vibe. We made a judgment call. Gotham City is Chicago. Chicago is Gotham City.”
On top of its prime location of being ‘not far from Gotham’, Wayne Manor’s size of 42,500 sq ft on a 150-acre land is also a contributing factor to Movoto’s proposed price tag.
The expansive abode’s interior includes a library, a ballroom, a game room and a laboratory, to mention a few creature comforts.
Movoto added that the price of US$32.1 million for Wayne Manor is exclusive of the eponymous Batcave, which functions as a cutting-edge storage and research facility in Bruce Wayne’s bid to fight the crimes in Gotham City.
