Sime Darby Property has unveiled its second Rumah Selangorku project, Harmoni 1, centrally located in Putra Heights, Selangor.
Located at Putra Heights in Subang, the RM359 million development consists of four apartments blocks containing a total of 1,700 units priced from RM170,000 to RM270,000 each, with sizes ranging between 800 sq ft and 1,000 sq ft, reported The Edge.
According to the developer’s Managing Director Datuk Jauhari Hamidi, Harmoni 1 will also come with a multi-purpose hall and a 5.5-storey car park.
“The construction starts next month,” he said, adding the low-cost housing project is expected to take around three years to complete.
Sime Darby’s property division revealed that the subscription for the units began on Tuesday (21 March), with about 500 potential buyers invited for the on-the-spot registration.
Those keen to purchase a Rumah Selangorku home may register on the developer’s website and complete an online registration via the portal of Lembaga Perumahan dan Hartanah Selangor.
Notably, Harmoni 1 is Sime Darby Property’s second project under the Rumah Selangorku scheme, following the launch of Bandar Bukit Raja in 2015.
Jauhari shared that they plan to build over 4,000 Rumah Selangorku homes in Sime Darby’s four townships, namely Elmina, Serenia City, Bukit Jelutong and Bandar Bukit Raja.
“The third Rumah Selangorku project by Sime Darby Property is expected to be launched in September this year; we are considering City of Elmina or Bandar Bukit Raja.”
Meanwhile, the state government is urging developers to provide affordable flats not only for the “bottom 40 (B40)” households but the “middle 40 (M40)” families as well, according to Selangor Chief Minister Datuk Seri Azmin Ali during the launch of Harmoni 1.
“There is demand for affordable homes of a slightly higher price with good facilities,” he added.
Moreover, Selangor State Housing, Building and Urban Settler Management Committee Chairman Datuk Iskandar Abdul Samad shared that they have approved the construction of 89,007 Rumah Selangorku homes since the scheme was rolled-out in 2015. Of this, 20,880 units are expected to be ready by the end of 2017.
This scheme is open to all Malaysians age 18 year and above, with household incomes ranging from RM3,000 to RM10,000 per month. Another requirement is that they must not have any other property.
