Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) Corporation announced on Thursday (15 June) that it has granted a work contract for the construction of four stations under the MRT Sungai Buloh-Serdang-Putrajaya (SSP) Line valued at RM342.18 million.
Awarded to IJM Construction, work package S203 involves the building of three elevated stations and other related works at Sri Delima, Kampung Batu, and Kentonmen, along with one half-sunken station at Jalan Ipoh.
The tender for the work package was launched on 29 November 2016 and closed on 20 February 2017, with a total of seven firms taking part.
Notably, IJM Construction also secured work package V203, which covers the construction of an elevated guideway and other associated works from Jinjang to Jalan Ipoh North Escape Shaft.
The four aforementioned MRT stations are situated along this stretch.
The company also previously clinched two work packages under the MRT Sungai Buloh-Kajang (SBK) Line. The first comprises the construction of a viaduct gateway and other related works from Maluri Portal to Taman Connaught Station, while the second involves the building of elevated station and other associated works at Taman Pertama, Taman Mindah, Taman Mutiara and Taman Connaught.
According to MRT Corp CEO Datuk Seri Shahril Mokhtar, IJM Construction has been chosen for submitting the best tender in terms of technical, commercial, legal and financial aspects, coupled with their familiarity with the Klang Valley MRT project.
“IJM Construction has a lot of experience working on the MRT project and this will be invaluable as they proceed with the newest contract. I believe they will maintain their very good track record and will give their best to perform well for the SSP Line Project,” he added.
