Country Garden Pacificview Sdn Bhd (CGPV), the master developer of the Forest City project in Johor, intends to start the second phase of the development located on four man-made islands, reported The Star.
Notably, CGPV is a joint venture between China’s Country Garden Holdings and Esplanade Danga 88 Sdn Bhd, an associate firm of Kumpulan Prasarana Rakyat Johor (KPRJ).
With a gross development value of RM1.2 billion, Phase II spans nearly 809.37 hectares and will feature landmarks like a five-star hotel with a total of 306 rooms and three 18-hole golf courses.
The second phase of the massive development is targeted for completion by Q1 2018, according to Dr Yu Runze, Chief Strategy Officer of CGPV.
“With the second stage of the Forest City development in the pipeline, we are on track to deliver the desired development goals of Forest City, which is a place for people to work, live, play and thrive.”
He added that the Phase II will comprise facilities for healthcare, tourism and education. It will also include three golf courses, one of which was designed by Jack Nicklaus and his son Jack Nicklaus II, whose father is considered the greatest golfer of all time.
Yu told this to reporters after attending a forum on the upcoming attractions and business opportunities in the Iskandar region that was held at the Forest City sales gallery in Gelang Patah on Tuesday (20 June).
