The Setia Alam township is one the most sought-after areas among housebuyers for its well-organised and conducive living environment. Homeseekers looking at buying into Setia Alam should rejoice as embracing traffic woes during peak hours will be eased.
The two-lane Persiaran Setia Alam is poised to be upgraded into a six-lane highway, with completion expected by year-end, after the Public Works Department (JKR) gave its approval for the project, reported The Star.
S P Setia will undertake the RM13 million road upgrading project as it’s part of the Setia Alam township’s development order, said Shah Alam City Councillor Simon Siow.
“S P Setia is required to upgrade the road facilities once 85 percent of their land parcel is developed. They have successfully developed 90 percent, but the road project was delayed because they did not receive approval from KJR earlier.”

In particular, the upgrading will cover 3km from Jalan Meru to the Setia Alam Timur interchange. The wider road is expected to help residents from Kapar, Meru and Klang who are travelling to Kuala Lumpur via Persiaran Setia Alam, which is a busy highway, especially from 5pm and 10pm.
Moreover, two pedestrian bridges will be constructed to help people safely cross the highway – one in Jalan Setia Prima S U13/S going to Petronas station and another close to the Setia Alam Welcome Centre going to Persiaran Setia Dagang and vice versa.
While Persiaran Setia Alam is being upgraded, motorists may take an alternate route to Setia Alam town via the Persiaran Setia Damai near Eco Ardence.
