Developer Tropicana Corporation held a first-of-its-kind fun run on 1 July at its RM7.2 billion mixed-use project at Subang Jaya in Selangor’s Petaling District.
Attracting more than 1,600 participants, the event took place around Tropicana Metropark, an award-winning 88-acre development that features a 9-acre Central Park with flowing streams and the recently-opened GEMS International School.
“We are proud to host the Tropicana Metropark Bubble Bridge Run as the event garnered such great support from families and the communities in the neighbouring areas,” said Tropicana Managing Director Ung Lay Ting.
The amusing event highlighted the Tropicana Metropark – Subang link that will open by early August. “Not only did participants witness first-hand Tropicana’s commitment to sustainable green living throughout the whole development, but they also obtained an exclusive preview of the soon-to-be opened direct-link that connects the Federal Highway to Tropicana Metropark’s doorstep.”
“We believe that the 1.6km purpose-built link will benefit residents in Subang Jaya, USJ and neighbouring areas, while providing greater connectivity to the development. With the distance shortened by 2.5km, commuters will enjoy reduced travel time and smoother traffic flow,” noted Ung.
Aside from that, the fun run saw joggers overcoming thrilling obstacle courses, such as the Tire Steps, Water Gun Attack, Vertical Army Inflatable, and the Foamy Finish.
While families and friends ran leisurely and took plenty of scenic photos, others competitively powered through the Ultimate Inflatable Obstacle challenge, with most squealing in delight while riding on the Giant Slide.
Upon arriving at the Foamy Finish, participants proudly took their medals and were treated to a wide array of carnival-themed activities, with some taking home fabulous prizes from lucky draws.
Commenting on the landmark project, Ung said: “Tropicana Metropark is poised to become an iconic destination for both commercial and recreational activities in the years to come. With the first two residential phases, namely Pandora and Paloma Serviced Residences fully sold and handed over to homeowners, we are now focusing on the third residential phase, Paisley Serviced Residences.”
Phase III comprises 587 serviced residences across two towers, with areas measuring from 601 sq ft to 1491 sq ft. Available configurations include 1+1, 2+1 and 3+1-bedroom units.
Thanks to its central location in Tropicana Metropark, residents will be able to enjoy breath-taking views of the Central Park. They will also benefit from over 40 resort-themed facilities such as a gym, private sky terraces and an Olympic-length pool.
