Bumiputera property developer RBI Land Sdn Bhd plans to build 320 affordable condominium units for the civil servants housing scheme (Proper) in Padang Luas near Jerteh in Besut.

The units in the 1.62 ha. project, with a built-up area of between 950 and 1,150 sq. ft., are priced from RM188,888 to RM368,888.

Interestingly, no deposits are needed, while buyers are offered furniture vouchers and umrah tickets, state Health, Women, Family and Community Development Committee chairman Datuk Muhammad Pehimi Yusof told reporters recently.

The Jerteh state assemblyman also said that the state government will give whatever support it can to such projects which benefit the developer, landowner and buyer.

Meanwhile, RBI Land chief executive officer Roslan Ibrahim said the developer, which currently owns 84 parcels of land with a capacity of 42,000 condominium units, targets to complete 150,000 units nationwide by year-end and launch 100 to 120 more Proper sites nationwide, including in Sabah and Sarawak.

The company has received about 400,000 unofficial online applications with applications for the Jerteh units to open soon, he said.

More such projects will be launched before the fasting month, including in Kuantan, Kuala Terengganu, Johor Baharu and Selangor, with more units to be built later in Gong Badak near Kuala Nerus and Rusila near Marang, he added.
