83% of the respondents from PropertyGuru’s Consumer Sentiment Survey in 2H2017 stated their dissatisfaction with the real estate climate, with 40% expecting property prices to rise by more than 5% to 10% over the next 5 years.

In line with the slow market, and 57% of respondents expressing a desire to purchase a property over the next six months, PropertyGuru created the “My Dream Home Campaign” contest with a cash prize of RM50,000 to assist the winner afford the downpayment for their dream home.

Launched on 11th August 2017 and running for 4 months, the journey was an education to users on how to make an informed decision when purchasing a property, via learning through PropertyGuru’s Guides, Project Reviews, New Home Listings and New Launches.

On 26th January, Nor Hafidzi Mahat was announced as the winner for the PropertyGuru “My Dream Home Campaign” contest with his choice of property: The Era in Duta North. The prize giving ceremony was conducted on the same day in the new PropertyGuru office.

In his speech on how PropertyGuru played a hand in his property buying journey, Nor Hafidzi Mahat was quoted to say “With meticulous research through the PropertyGuru portal albeit with a limited budget, we shortlisted a few property picks based on location, price analysis, floor plans, facilities and developers’ background.”

According to Sheldon Fernandez, Country Manager of PropertyGuru Malaysia, “PropertyGuru is all about helping people make confident property decisions. And with improving confidence in the market, many are looking towards buying their homes, whether as a first time home buyer or upgrader.”

Therefore, in order to make this tangible, PropertyGuru launched the “My Dream Home Campaign” contest, to help Malaysians find their dream homes, and also to help with the first part of the hurdle, which is the down payment.

And coming from the Executive Director of JKG Land, Mr. Foh Meng Hua, “It’s an honour for Era@Duta North to be spoken of so highly and is the property of choice. Merging both nature and urban concept was no easy feat, but we are confident of delivering a new concept in the way people live, work and play.”
