Due to a hefty increase in home prices, around 300 would-be buyers of Felcra Cangkat Lada Second Generation Housing at Seberang Perak in Pasir Salak now fear that they would be unable to afford such residential properties, reported Bernama.
According to the group’s leader, Zul Azri Hossaini, when Phase 1 of the project was launched two years ago, 710 buyers were offered homes costing between RM90,000 and RM133,000.
But now they are protesting as prices for units Phase 2 have increased by 43 percent to 154 percent to RM128,888 and RM326,888 per unit.
“What raises more questions is that the letter was issued by Felcra Properties Sdn Bhd and it refers to the launch of the sales of affordable houses at the same project site.”
“How can this be when all Felcra participants and their children know that the project was meant for the second generation of Felcra, and the price is ridiculously unreasonable.”
Zul Azri added that they tried asking for an explanation from Felcra for the higher unit prices. But he claimed they only got “excuses and no concrete decision” on whether this could be lowered or not.
