Kuala Lumpur – KL Wellness City is thrilled to be a partner of MIFFEST and kicked off the partnership by organising an exclusive private screening event at this year’s MIFFEST Films Festival, highlighting its commitment to cultural enrichment and community engagement. Following the recent Malaysia International Film Festival (MIFFEST) press conference held at our gallery on 24 June 2024, this partnership underscores KL Wellness City’s dedication to fostering a vibrant, inclusive community within the country.
In line with our support for the Malaysia International Film Festival, which is to be held from 21 July 2024 to 27 July 2024, this exclusive movie screening exemplifies KL Wellness City’s role in promoting and celebrating arts and culture. By participating in MIFFEST, we proudly contribute to a platform that showcases local talent and stories, positioning Malaysia as a hub for cinematic excellence.
The private screening will feature the movie “THELMA,” a highly anticipated film that promises to captivate audiences with its compelling narrative. The film follows the journey of 93-year-old Thelma Post, who embarks on a daring quest across the city to reclaim what was taken from her after being duped by a phone scammer pretending to be her grandson. This special event reflects KL Wellness City’s ongoing efforts to bring world-class cultural experiences to the local community, enhancing the quality of life and supporting holistic wellness.

The screening will took place on 23 July 2024 at GSC Hall 1, MyTown Shopping Centre, renowned for its state-of-the-art facilities and comfortable seating. Attendees were treated to popcorn & drinks, adding to the immersive movie-going experience.
Additionally, as part of our initiative to engage with the broader community, KL Wellness City invited children from Yayasan Sunbeams Home, allowing them to partake in this rest & relax cinema session.” This continuous initiative reflects KL Wellness City’s dedication to helping underprivileged children and its commitment to giving back to society.
