In a bid to raise awareness on home and content insurance, Allianz General Insurance Company (Malaysia) Berhad’s (Allianz General) launched a new Facebook contest dubbed Shield Your Home.
“This New Year, we are happy to introduce a brand new Facebook contest that sends the message of keeping homes protected,” said Zakri Khir, Chief Executive Officer of Allianz General.
“People have many dreams and one of them is owning a home. However, owning a home alone is not enough, as it must have sufficient protection. That’s why we introduced the ‘Shield Your Home’ Facebook contest to create awareness on home and content insurance.”
To run from 1 January to 31 March, Shield Your Home is open Malaysians and permanent residents above 18 years of age. To join the contest, the participants would have to “Like” the company’s Facebook page (www.facebook.com/allianzmalaysia) and register their personal details on the welcome page.
A participant builds a home in the contest application using the parcel of land and 1 million Allianz Dollar (AZ$) awarded at the start of the game. The house will have to be built and designed using the materials and decorations provided at the application.
Once completed, the participant will have to publish the house by answering a question. An incorrect answer will yield disaster such as flood, burglary or fire for the home, while a correct answer will provide the home with an insurance coverage and publish it.
Monthly prizes will be awarded to five homes with the most “Likes”. Prizes will include a home theatre system and a LED HD Television. An Allianz Home Shield policy will also be awarded to winners.
“This contest will not only create awareness on home and content insurance, but also enables one to unleash his or her creativity in designing, building and decorating a home. I encourage everyone to try out this interesting application,” added Zakri.
