The Jasin Municipal Council (MPJ) and Tep Builder Sdn Bhd have gone into a joint venture (JV) deal to develop an integrated bus and taxi terminal at Merlimau, Jasin worth RM47.8 million.
The development will likewise have a two-story market.
According to Melaka Chief Minister Datuk Seri Idris Haron, the JV more than a 1.2 hectare site, will likewise include a 10 and 12-story serviced apartment blocks, a three-story shophouse and parking over two stories.
“The primary stage will include the bus and taxi terminal and the market based on the green innovation idea and prepared in 2017,” he added.
He told reporters this after witnessing the signing of the JV arrangement recently.
The MPJ was spoken to by its President Hazudin Hashim and Councilor Yusof Othman, while Tep Builder’s directors Ee Yong Chin and Alif Chua signed for the company.
The new integrated project will replace the present bus terminal and market that can no more address the issues of the people in the area.
In the interim, in another ceremony, the Melaka Customary Land Development Corporation and Sekitar Sinarmas Sdn Bhd likewise signed another JV arrangement to build up 692 units of houses within three years for the people in the state.
Idris, who witnessed the event would be undertaken in Bachang with 576 units of apartments in six blocks, 88 units of two-story terrace and 28 semi-detached two-storey houses.
The project is part of the mixed development in the area and included the takeover of eight lots more than a 9.6 hectare site worth RM15.12 million.
The expense of development will be completely borne by Sinarmas and will improve Bumiputera ownership of houses in Bachang and Melaka Tengah.
