Icon Residence by Mah Sing Group is a trendy tropical development, set against an urban oasis that is surrounded by multiple amenities and conveniences. Located in the affluent enclave of Mont’ Kiara, Icon Residence sits on 2.57 acres of freehold land, and has a gross development value (GDV) of RM298 million.
The development’s innovative design is inspired by Santorini in Greece, while the landscape and water features are inspired by the country’s Mediterranean feel.
Icon Residence was conceived to capture the romance and fantasies of renowned Mediterranean architecture but keeping the simplicity of modern architecture.
The concept is to integrate a staggered form, from out of the ground and rising to the upper tiers, just like the tiered Mediterranean houses with deep windows which provide shade from the direct sunlight.
Icon Residence has three towers – ICON 1, ICON 2 and ICON 3 – which are 26-, 28- and 36-storeys high respectively. It offers 1 to 4+1-bedroom units. Each floor houses 2 to 6 units, and all are corner units with views of either Kuala Lumpur or Mont’Kiara.
Green design features at Icon Residence include rainwater harvesting, energy-saving lights, low VOC paints, and automated waste disposal system, where all waste is at a central area for pick-up and disposal.
Icon Residence has a three-dimensional concept. Each tower projects a unique profile that is complemented by inter-linked bridges, lattices, hanging terraces, garden spaces, and spacious interiors.
In The Edge-Mah Sing Millionaire Contest, the winner picked a one-bedroom unit at Icon Residence as his prize. The unit he chose has a built-up of 1,115 sq ft and the kitchen came fitted with appliances and cabinets.
The winner picked the property in Mont’Kiara as he considered it to be a hotspot in the Klang Valley, with nearby amenities and an eye-catching design. He believes that it will enjoy a very good appreciation rate. He’s not wrong on all these points!
Icon Residence was launched in June 2011 and completed in June 2015. The average launch price was RM699 per sq ft, and it was about RM1,100 per sq ft in 2017. The capital appreciation is about 40 per cent and the developer wants to replicate such a success for more projects in Mont’Kiara.

Mont Kiara, even though highly populated, is considered a prime real estate location for those looking for the best spot in the city. It started off as a small township but it has expanded outwards to include areas such as Segambut Dalam (Mont Kiara North).
